Ross returned to his garden today after a five day absence. He appeared dazed and was quite incoherent and after he was evaluated by the Ridge
Volunteer Rescue Squad he was transported to the hospital. As of this time, Ross had been admitted to the trauma unit where his injuries will
be more extensively evaluated. The medic on-board stated that at first glance there seams to be some broken appendages and possibly head trauma.
Mr. Spence commented "wherever Ross has been for the past five days it's evident he was wearing his seat belt. It could have been worse."
Molly, his trusted friend, has been by his side since his return.

Last night under the cover of darkness, an unknown person or persons removed (stole) Ross from his perch on his lawn tractor along Rt 5 in St.
Mary's City. The initial investigation did not reveal a ransom note or an apology from the thief. His return would be most appreciated.

Take a tip from the Rossmeister and take it easy during hot weather. Don’t over exert yourself. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and
please drink responsibly. And part of being responsible is picking up after yourself. I’m going to clean this mess up as soon as I catch
a few more Z’s.
Z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z
Oh yeah, and please recycle.

After a long winter break, Ross is on his way back to manning his garden station. Before he reports for duty, Mr. Spence needed to make some renovations.
However, there's a snag in the plans. Mr. Spence reports:
"Before Ross returned from Florida for the summer, I decided to move his foundation to an area a little farther away from the flowers and the asparagus so it's easier to mow the grass. Well, as I was busy with what I was hoping was a two-hour job, this guy wearing a hard hat rides up saying he's some sort of 'county inspector' and wanted to see my Scarecrow Moving Permit, approved site plan and blueprints. He also asked if I had 'given the crows a 30 day notice in the local media concerning the impending move.' I'm thinking 'who the heck is this guy'? "
Looks like it's not going to be a two-hour job after all. Stay tuned for more of "As the Garden Churns."
